Sleep Healthy With Sleep Fresh
What is Healthy Sleep?
Traditionally speaking, sleep health refers to how well our body cycles through the different stages of sleep: light sleep, deep sleep, and REM sleep. Successfully cycling through all three sleep stages multiple times each night allows sleep to perform its critical function of restoring our bodies and minds. Getting a healthy amount of sleep is a key part of a good sleep pattern. The National Sleep Foundation recommends that most adults get between 7 and 9 hours of sleep each night and that older adults over 65 years of age get between 7 and 8 hours. The rapid growth and development of youth means that children need increased hours of sleep, with specific recommendations varying by age. Babies might need up to 17 hours per night, while the range for teens is 8 to 10 hours.
“Sleep is the golden chain that ties health and our bodies together.”
- Thomas Dekker
Sleep Fresh, Sleep Healthy
In addition to understanding how your sleep cycles throughout, it is also important to understand how our mattress can affect our overall sleep health. Common knowledge tells us that a comfortable and supportive mattress is essential for healthy sleep, but many consumers don't think twice about what kind of harmful chemicals are hidden within their mattress. Certain mattresses may release gaseous chemicals called volatile organic compounds (VOCs) which are present in some foams and flame retardant components. How is the Sleep Fresh mattress different?
Sleep Fresh mattresses are made with CertiPUR-US® and OEKO-TEX® certified materials, meaning they are non-toxic and certified safe for a healthier sleep experience.
